Ingredients

  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Tomato Paste - 100 g
  • Himalayan Pink Salt - 1 to taste
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Molasses - 1 tbsp
  • Apple Cider Vinegar - 60 ml
  • Onion - 100 g
  • Pepper - 0.5 tsp
  • Chili Powder - 1 tsp
  • Worcestershire Sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Smoked Paprika - 1 tsp
  • Brown Sugar - 3 tbsp

Directions

  • Step 1

    In a saucepan over medium heat, sauté finely chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.

  • Step 2

    Stir in tomato paste, brown sugar, and molasses; cook 2 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Add water, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce; whisk to combine.

  • Step 4

    Season with smoked paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.

  • Step 5

    Bring to a simmer and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

  • Step 6

    Remove from heat and let cool before using.

Cook's Notes

For extra smokiness, add a drop of liquid smoke or a pinch of smoked salt.
